Major Retreat: California African American Museum

  • Tresidder Memorial Union, Oak Room (map)

A small cohort of students and staff journeyed to Los Angeles to visit the exhibition "We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women: 1965-1985," at the California African-American Museum. The exhibition was accompanied by a talk with Uri McMillan, Assistant Professor at UCLA and author of Embodied Avatars: Genealogies of Black Feminist Art and Performance. Students were also privileged to visit the Underground Museum and enjoyed a playful screen printing workshop.
